Mirko Cvijanovi\u0107 <\/strong> was born on June 17, 1989, in Doboj. He completed his primary education in Trbuk near Doboj and graduated from the secondary school of economics in Doboj. He is a Professor of History, having graduated from the Faculty of Philosophy in Banja Luka in 2013 with a thesis titled \"The Municipality of Doboj from the Multi-party Elections to October 1992.\" In 2025, he earned his Master\u2019s degree from the same faculty with a thesis titled \"Doboj in the Defense-Patriotic War of the Republic of Srpska (1992\u20131995).\"\n\nHe is employed at the Public Institution Museum in Doboj as a Curator-Historian. In 2020, he completed a seminar at Yad Vashem in Israel, at the International School for Holocaust Studies. He was one of the founders and the secretary of the \"Dr. Milan Vasi\u0107\" History Students' Association. He is the co-author of one scientific monograph and the author of several professional papers. His specific research interests include the history of the Republic of Srpska and the city of Doboj and its surroundings. He participated in two scientific conferences organized by the \"Knez Miroslav Humski\" Association in Trebinje in 2024 and 2025. Furthermore, he is a contributor to the Encyclopedia of the Republic of Srpska, published by the Academy of Sciences and Arts of the Republic of Srpska, for which he authored entries on inhabited settlements in the areas of Doboj, Stanari, and Petrovo.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t

Abstract: <\/strong>Following the attack on the Kingdom of Yugoslavia by the Third Reich on April 6, 1941, the Independent State of Croatia (NDH) was proclaimed in Zagreb under the patronage of the Third Reich on April 10, 1941, by Eugen Dido Kvaternik, with Ante Paveli\u0107 named as its Poglavnik (leader). Germany and Italy divided the Kingdom of Yugoslavia according to their zones of interest. As of April 23, 1941, the German military decided to cede the entire territory of Bosnia and Herzegovina to the Independent State of Croatia, a territory to which Syrmia, including Zemun, was also annexed. With the establishment of the Independent State of Croatia, laws and legal provisions were proclaimed that rendered Serbs, Jews, and Roma second-class citizens. Thus, a law banning the use of the Cyrillic script was enacted, and a decree was issued defining Serbs as members of the \"Greek-Eastern Church\" rather than the Orthodox Church. Furthermore, a law was passed on the formation of the Croatian Orthodox Church to replace the Serbian Orthodox Church. In addition to the proclamation of all these laws and legal decrees, Extraordinary People's Courts were established in April, followed by the formation of Mobile Summary Courts at the end of June.
