The International Scientific Conference “The NDH and the Jasenovac Concentration Camp in the Light of Contemporary Research” was held on April 22 and 23, 2025 in Donja Gradina. This significant academic gathering was organized by the Public Institution “Donja Gradina Memorial Area”, under the auspices of the President of the Republika Srpska, to mark the 80th anniversary of the breakthrough of the Jasenovac camp prisoners.

The conference brought together eminent experts from the country and abroad, who, through their presentations, made a significant contribution to contemporary research on the Ustasha crime of genocide, the Holocaust, and the Porajmos, as well as broader studies of war and genocide during World War II. Particular attention was paid to new scientific findings, the causes and consequences of the Ustasha ideology, and the analysis of suffering within the Independent State of Croatia.

The working languages of the conference were Serbian and English, which enabled a broad international scientific exchange and further contributed to the quality of the discussions.

According to the assessments of the participants and organizers, the conference fully met expectations and was rated as highly successful, both in terms of its scientific contribution and its significance for the culture of remembrance and the nurturing of historical truth.
