SAMUDARIPEN IN THE TERRITORY OF THE REPUBLIC OF SRPSKA IN LIGHT OF NEW RESEARCH
Abstract: In the latest research on the Samudaripen of the Roma in this region, we used statistical data published for the first time in the monograph "Samudaripen of the Roma in the Independent State of Croatia ". According to the 1931 census, we can conclude that in several cities within the Republic of Srpska, there were individuals whose mother tongue was recorded as "Gypsy" and who were found among both the Orthodox and Muslim populations, as well as Roma who belonged to so-called small religious communities. Based on our research, which was partially published in the book "Samudaripen of the Roma in the Independent State of Croatia", in 1939, the Drina Banovina had approximately 30,000 Roma of the Muslim faith. The number of Orthodox Roma was slightly less than 30,000, but we cannot confirm this number with absolute certainty due to the lack of complete data
